38th in the prologue for the Solitaire du Figaro yesterday in Perros Guirec, northern Brittany, Jean-Pierre Nicol was essentially using the race to get his bearings with a view to tomorrow’s start. It’s the final home straight for the 47 competitors in the Solitaire du Figaro. The start of the season has seen some sailors competing in solo transatlantic races or events combining windward-leewards and port-to-port sprints, but now all those competing in the Figaro circuit have finally gathered in Perros Guirec, where they’re preparing for battle.
